Corn Chowder
1 lb bacon
1 med onion, chopped
2-4 potatoes, cubed
Cut bacon into small pieces and cook until crisp. Add chopped onion and cook until tender.
Add bacon, onion and potatoes together and cover with water. Bring to a boil and simmer until pototoes are cooked. Add 1 large can of cream corn with about 1/2 can of milk. Simmer about 30-60 minutes and serve.
This recipe is great with homemade biscuits. Yummy!

Autumn Soup
1 lb ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup diced carrots
1 cup diced celery
1 cup cubed potatoes
1 bay leaf
1/8 tsp basil (optional)
6 tomatoes (or 2 cans tomatoes)
Cook meat until brown. Add onions and cook until tender. Add the rest of the ingredients except the tomatoes. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Simmer for approximately 20 minutes. Add tomatoes and simmer until veggies are tender.

Beef Barley Soup
1 pkg stewing beef cubes
1 cup raw pot barley
1 onion, chopped
2 carrots, diced
1 celery, diced
1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
2 large potatoes, diced
2 cans beef broth
2 cans water
soya sauce to flavour and add colour
Pepper to taste
1 tsp dried parsley
Cut beef into smaller bite size pieces if needed.
Rinse barley well.
Add everything to a crock pot. Add more water if needed to make sure everything is covered. Cook 6-8 hours on low.
